The Flagship Event Of Askernish's Golf Calendar

The flagship event of Askernish Golf Club’s annual golfing calendar is the Askernish Open Golf Weekend.

Since the opening event in 2008, which was attended by our club president Kenny Dalglish, this event has been well-attended with as many as 100 golfers competing for the coveted trophies and enjoying the finest South Uist hospitality.

The field is regularly made up of an international cohort, coming from as far afield as the mainland Europe, Scandinavia, the Americas, & Africa, and the ½-way house has quickly made its way into Askernish folklore.

Building on the success of 2011, The Askernish Open Golf Weekend 2012 will take place on Friday 24th, Saturday 25th, and Sunday 26th August 2012.

Friday 24th – Mackenzie & Ebert Quaich (18-holes, Stableford
Saturday 25th – Askernish Open Championship (18-holes, Strokeplay)
Saturday 25th – Evening Presentation Ceilidh!
Sunday 26th – Gordon Stollery Memorial (18-holes, Texas Scramble)

* All competitions in the Golf Weekend are Open to Men, Ladies, and Juniors (aged 13+) with prize sections for each.

Entry into the event costs £35 which includes all three days golf and the Presentation Ceilidh.
It is expected that demand for places will be high, and entries will be handled on a first-come first-served basis. A waiting list will be put in place once the Open is full.
